Just about every month evokes a strong desire to express myself in a distinctly different manner. After December’s run of glittering, dazzling holiday parties and events, the new year comes as a sensory relief. The new year feels fresh, simple, natural; a welcome tabula rasa for new intents and directions.
My mindset and wardrobe reflects it, and that cleansing philosophy also makes it way to my makeup and nails.
I’m happy to share with you my beauty secret to create a truly flawless nude nail look complementary to your skin tone. It’s simple, and it doesn’t require a specific polish color. You’ll be able to create this look with a few nail products that you likely may already have!
I used:
- OPI Natural Base Coat
- Essie “Room With A View” (or any sheer light pink polish; Essie provides a great selection)
- OPI Ridge Filler
- Nails Inc. London Caviar Topcoat
Beyond the new year, the nude nail is a gorgeous look for special events, weddings, vacations, and just about any other time you want a look with understated elegance. Are there any occasions you might like to try this out for?
xoxo,
Great post, I will have to try this some time!
Turquoise and Tortoiseshells
This cute. And the OPI is my favorite. Their colors are so solid and stand up well. I’m going to try this at home myself. thanks
LOVE a good nude nail!
Nude polish really is my favorite and I LOVE your tutorial. Thank you!
I totally agree, this is such a gorgeous look for the new year. A fresh new year doesn’t want anything too brash! Lovely colour!

I totally love your nails. I am going to have to try this for sure.
I think a nude nail is extremely classy and pretty. I just wish I had ‘nice-looking’ nails to begin with – they’ve always been kind of stubby looking, so I can paint them all I want, but they still look like ‘kiddie’ nails.
These are so pretty! I am always super impatient when it comes to doing my nails!
These are very pretty. I had my nails done like this for my daughter’s wedding. It’s a very elegant look.

Your nails look beautiful. I don’t wear bright colors so this would be perfect.
I always think it’s so elegant looking but I’ve never been able to find just the right shade. Yours looks great so I’ll have to grab a bottle of that Essie polish!

I don’t really do my finger nails ever, unless I’m going to an event, which I never do anymore. But this is really cute, I love your nails.
