I’m ready and excited for fall, and all of the lovely style changes that comes with it. While my wardrobe transition may be gradual over the next few weeks, I’m jumping headfirst with my nails!
You may have seen a sneak peek of them a few days ago (on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook – follow me to get updates and extra tidbits)!
Here they are, up close in personal – covered in sexy high-gloss patent black generously flecked with bright holographic glitter.
For everyday wear, I typically prefer neutral, light-toned polishes that hide wear and chips, but I’m having an all-out love affair with this statement look. Wearing this gives me the same joy of slipping on a pair of black patent pointed-toe stilettos – an instant boost of glamour and sex appeal!
A foundation of OPI Natural Nail Base Coat is covered with two coats of Zoya Nail Polish in Storm, and protected with a thick coat of Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat that gives an ultra shiny finish. This looks great with slightly longer, oval-tapered nails, for a classic look that goes with anything from a jean-and-tank top date to a black-tie affair.
Below is a shot of the nails in indirect light; the holographic glitter is less noticeable and the look is toned down just a tad. Yet, looks just as lovely.
Zoya polish goes on smoothly with great coverage, and is long-lasting and toxin-free. All of these qualities add up to a high-quality polish that’s one of my favorites. They also have an incredible assortment of colors and finishes!
Mirrored glossy black is my new favorite color of the season, along with warm reds and oranges and bright gold. I’ve captured this theme in a centerpiece that’s versatile enough to last all the way from September’s harvest, through Halloween, to Thanksgiving in November. Awesome!

I discovered Mor last year, and was quickly won over by their sensual, fully-scented body line of soaps, body washes, and lotions. Last holiday season, I picked out a bright Blood Orange wash for my dad and a lovely Snow Gardenia lotion for my mom. But when I smelled the light scent of Lychee Flower – half floral, half fruity – it instantly became my favorite.
It’s unexpected that such a light, delicate fragrance would take the form of a matte black candle within a gold-detailed glass, but, as with the black and metallic combo of the Zoya Storm nail polish, it looks and feels sophisticated and elegant.
In both cases, the black prevents the gilding from being overly-precious, and the shine and metallic embellishment keeps the black from being darkly goth.
All set to enjoy a glamorous autumn season with dark tones and rich metallics!
